Metacrisis Diplomats Launch
It’s taken a while to emerge … but myself and Laurent are [finally!] some combination of elated and terrified to launch our latest project:
We currently face a multitude of global crises - the environment, geopolitics, inequality, polarisation, AI, etc etc. ‘Metacrisis’ refers to what - if anything - they might have in common.
If we can gain clarity on the common themes and connections between these individual crises, the question then becomes: what - if anything - might we do about it?
Metacrisis Diplomats offer ways of coming together to talk, think, feel, and learn about the metacrisis.
We hold that a crucial part of the journey is increasing awareness and understanding of our predicament, to enable individuals, groups and organisations to develop responses.
It’s important to be clear here: ‘crisis’ in this context does not necessarily mean disaster or tragedy. Rather, it means a transition or turning point. This isn’t about doomerism and negativity. While the subject can feel overwhelming at times, we face it with realistic optimism.
This is the work.
It won’t be for everyone [clearly!].
