The Value of Journalling

I’ve been journalling since 2014, and occasionally this year [2022] found myself wondering if it’s worth the effort. Then I do my Annual Review, looking back over the year – and the value becomes clear. I have at least a few sentences [and usually a lot more than that] on every single day from 2022 … which gives me a true sense of what went well – and the things I might have neglected …

Journalling isn’t for everyone – but it unquestionably helps me. It helps me remember, grow, and understand myself better.

If it’s something you’ve considered, I highly recommend it. You don’t have to do much to begin. Just a sentence, or even a few words can be enough to get started. [And don’t beat yourself up if you miss a few days here and there].

If you’re curious, most of my highlights involved mountains of one sort or another [some physical, some metaphorical] … and the area I neglected the most was my creativity – so watch this space for another book coming soon …
